Flickering Lights

Flickering lights can be annoying.

There are 3 main causes of flickering lights-:

1 Corrosion or a loose light bulb connection

2 Faulty or worn switch

Switches include a spring, a moving conductive toggle contact and stationary contacts.

3 Non dimmable light bulb in a circuit with a dimmer

If you install a non-dimmable LED lamp in a circuit with a dimmer, it may operate normally for a short period of time (if at all) if the dimmer is at 100% or fully on. However dimming the lamp will cause erratic behaviour such as flickering, flashing, strobing or buzzing, and ultimately will cause damage to the lamp and the dimmer. Do not do this.
